Stop The Witch Hunt

On the running side, I have argued that the case against state steward and former trainer John Veitch was a witch hunt, as the KHRC is insisting on finding a scapegoat for the Life At Ten fiasco at the Breeders Cup.  It is always nice to find someone who agrees with you.  Lenny Shulman wrote in Bloodhorse magazine an article which basically restates a good part of my argument.   The action taking regarding Life At Ten occurs daily on racetracks through out America, and not only for thoroughbreds.  There are many times judges allow standardbreds to race when they are 'not' right, basically to ensure there is no need to cancel lucrative wagering pools.

It's time to wrap this up and restore Vietch's good name.  Unless you are going to put a lot of stewards, judges, and track vets on the pillory for letting horses race when they shouldn't, it is time to leave him alone.
