Money Flowing Like Water

the New Jesrey Sired horses didn't do as bad as New York and Kentucky yearlings, but that is likely because day 1 has the best horses and many of the NJ sired horses offered on day 1 figure to race on the grand circuit.  On days 2-4, I anticipate the NJ average declining.

The first day of the Harrisburg Sales concluded yesterday and to say money was flowing like water, would be an understatement as two new world records have been set. The Cancelliere Brothers made it known they were going with deep pockets and deep pockets they had. First, they spent $430,000 for a full brother to Somebeachsomewhere and then they spend a mere $825,000 for a full brother of Donato Hanover. The $825,000 spent on Detour Hanover is the most ever spent on a yearling at a standardbred sale in North America. At $430,000, Some of the Beach tied the record for a yearling sold at auction Fortunately, Tom Cancellliere trains their horses as I would hate to be the training these two. There is a lot of money to be made before the owner's are made whole.


Speaking of Somebeachsomewhere, the trainer of the original superstar, Brent MacGrath returned to buy a daughter of Somebeachsomewhere, a filly named Bienvenue Hanover for a more pedestrian $115,000.
