It Really Isn't Rocket Science

For the harness fan, New Jersey's partnership with TVG has been a mess.  Whether the blame belongs on TVG and/or Darby Management (who manages the ADW for the NJSEA) is the question.

What I don't understand is how TVG doesn't accept wagers or show races on 4njbets.com which the New Jersey tracks and OTW facilities carry.  Making this more maddening is it's not that TVG doesn't carry these races elsewhere, many of these harness tracks are carried by TVG outside the Garden State.  The latest track where this is happening to is Dover Downs, a fact I discovered when looking to make a few wagers on the Matron Stakes today.

How difficult is it to get wagering approved in New Jersey by TVG when it is offered by them in other states?  Before any signal can be carried by 4njbets.com, a contract needs to be presented to the NJRC before it can get signed off on.  Where the problem lies I don't know.  Is it TVG?  Is it Darby Development which is screwing up because they are the operators of Monmouth Park who quite honestly could care less about harness racing?  I don't know but something is wrong when they can manage to get an obscure track like Araphoe Park( in Centennial, Colorado) on 4njbets.com but they can't get Dover Downs up and running on it.  What I do know is it isn't rocket science.  First it was Cal Expo, then it was Western Fair District, and now it is Dover Downs.  Which harness track is the next not to be carried by 4njbets.com?

If it is too hard for TVG and Darby to jointly manager 4njbets.com, then the state should remove the monopoly it granted and let other ADWs into New Jersey.
