Survey Says....

The American Gaming Association, according to The Record's John Brennan, has released a survey regarding casino gambling.  Of interest to racing supporters is the following question:

One question asked which of these forms of gambling you have done in the past year. Here’s the pct that participated in each:
- online gambling 4 pct
- horse racing or dog racing 8 pct
- any form of poker 16 pct
- casual betting (golf, fantasy sports, ballgame with friends) 26 pct
- casino gambling 35 pct
- playing the lottery 45 pct
Ouch.    Racing beats only online gambling but since online gambling is in its infancy in the United States (legally), I expect it won't be long until racing is bringing up the rear.  Clearly racing is not giving the gambler what it wants.  The time has come for that to change.
